Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship is a form of on-the-job training that combines practical work experience with classroom instruction. Apprenticeships are typically offered in skilled trades such as construction, manufacturing, plumbing, and electrical work. They provide individuals with the opportunity to learn a trade while working and earning a salary. Apprenticeships are typically structured programs that include a defined period of training, usually lasting between one to four years. They are typically sponsored by an employer or a group of employers in a particular trade or industry. Apprentices work under the guidance of a skilled worker, known as a journeyperson, and receive both on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
